A good intruder alarm is less about the number of detectors and more about where they sit. We look at the likely routes into the building, the rooms an intruder would head for and the way you use the property day to day, so the system catches a real intrusion without false alarms from pets, heaters or blinds.
We install both wired and wireless systems. Wired systems suit new builds and commercial premises where cables can be run during other work. Wireless systems suit occupied homes where you want minimal disruption. Many installations use both, with wired detection in the main areas and wireless devices where cabling is impractical.
Each system is set up with detector placement, door contacts, external sounders and a control panel configured for the way you set and unset the alarm, including part-set for night time. We check battery and power supply condition on every visit, because a weak standby battery is one of the most common causes of faults.
For existing alarms we read the event log to see what has actually been happening, then trace false alarms, tamper faults and communication problems back to the cause before replacing anything.

Questions answered
Common questions about intruder alarm installation
Should I choose a wired or wireless alarm?
Wired systems are very reliable and need no detector batteries, but cabling is more disruptive in a finished home. Wireless systems install quickly with little mess. We recommend the option that suits the building rather than a fixed preference.
Can the alarm notify my phone?
Yes. Many modern panels can send app notifications when the alarm activates, and some let you set or unset the system remotely. We confirm what the chosen panel supports before installation.
Will my pet set off the alarm?
Pet-tolerant detectors and careful positioning greatly reduce the risk. We ask about pets during the survey and choose detector types and mounting heights to suit.
What grade of alarm does my insurer need?
Insurers sometimes specify a grade or a monitored system, especially for businesses. Check your policy wording or ask your broker, and we will design the system to match what is required.
How often should an alarm be serviced?
Most installers recommend at least one maintenance visit a year, and insurers often require it. A service checks detectors, batteries, sounders and the event log so small faults are caught early.
