Access control should make a building easier to run. Staff get in without keys, visitors are let in by the right person and you can remove a lost fob in seconds instead of changing locks. We design systems around who needs to go where, and when.
For a single entrance a standalone keypad or fob reader is often enough. Offices, shared buildings and sites with several doors usually benefit from a networked system, where users, schedules and door events are managed from one place and access can be changed without visiting the door.
We install readers, controllers, locking hardware, exit buttons, door entry panels and power supplies, and set up credentials and user groups at handover. Where battery-powered wireless locks make more sense than running cables to every door, we support ASSA ABLOY SMARTair and Aperio solutions.
On escape routes, door release has to work with the fire alarm. We plan how each door fails, so a power loss or fire signal releases the doors that must open, while the doors that need to stay secure remain locked.

Questions answered
Common questions about access control and door entry
Fobs, cards, PIN codes or phones?
Fobs and cards are simple and cheap to replace. PIN codes avoid carrying anything but are easy to share. Many systems now support mobile credentials too. We often combine methods depending on the door and the users.
What happens to the doors in a power cut?
That depends on the lock type and how it is wired. Escape doors are usually set to release on power loss, while doors protecting stock or equipment can be set to stay locked. We decide this door by door with you.
Can access control link to the fire alarm?
Yes, and on escape routes it normally must. A fire alarm signal releases the designated doors so people can get out. We test this interface during commissioning.
Can you add access control to an existing door entry system?
Often, yes. We check the existing equipment first and tell you whether it can be extended or whether a replacement will be more reliable.
Do you install door entry for flats and apartment buildings?
Yes. We install and maintain audio and video door entry panels for apartment blocks, with fob access for residents where required.
